Studied acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles for two years, and graduated in 1998. After pursuing a film acting career for three years, he quickly realized that he belonged behind the camera, and shifted gears.

Since then, he's been learning filmmaking from hundreds of internet articles and books.  He's also worked as a production assistant on films with budgets ranging from no budget to $63 million. Commuting from Modesto to San Francisco roughly once a week to take classes, seminars, and workshops at the San Francisco Film Society has rounded out his education. Currently producing and directing music videos, industrials, and biographical documentaries for El Nido Productions.
